Radisson SAS opens in Kiev.

Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts, first international hotel chain entering Kiev hotel scheme, is finally opening a 255 room hotel.

The new property is located in the diplomatic area of Kiev historical center. The owners of the project are Rezidor SAS Hospitality (10%), EBRD (30 %), and Raiffeisen Management Investment (60%).

The Radisson SAS Hotel Kiev will focus primarily on business travelers and corporate clients. The hotel offers 255 spacious guestrooms, including 150 standard, 83 Business Class and 22 suites which are furnished in three styles: Scandinavian, Maritime, and Italian. The in-room amenities include modem port, satellite television, in-house movies, coffee/tea-machine, trouser press, safe and hairdryer.

The property has two restaurants, the 85-seater Bistro Cote Est, offering modern international cuisine, and a 50-seater Mille Miglia Ristorante & Enoteca serving fine Italian dining. The hotel's cigar bar, K Largo, in the lobby is the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail and snack after a busy day of meetings or touring the city.

Fitness and relaxation facilities include a 245 square meters fitness club Pace, featuring a fitness area, solarium, massage room, Finnish sauna and steam bath next to the indoor relaxation area with comfortable loungers.

The state-of-the-art conference facilities, covering up to 407 square meters, can accommodate meetings or dinner banquets of any type or scale. The hotel offers a main conference room called the Embassy Suite - 203 square meters of space with capacity for up to 230 quests in theatre set-up, 150 guests for banquets and 250 guests for cocktail receptions, and four smaller board rooms.

Radisson SAS Hotel Kiev comprises two buildings, dating back to 1882 and 1903. Both sites have a rich history; one of them once belonged to the Talberg family, depicted by Bulgakov in his famous novel 'White Guard'.

The original design, heavily influenced by the eclecticism of the early 20th century, brought the building the status of Monument of Architecture, thus the original design of the facade is carefully preserved. The Radisson SAS Kiev project was developed by A. Pashenko Architect Studio with S. Zdorenko as main architect.

Rixos Hotels expand Ukraine.

Intensively developing Turkish Rixos Hotels ope first venue in Ukraine the 434-room Rixos Hotel Prikarpatye in the city of Truskavets. Company and country are due to renew their acquaintanceship next year when Rixos heads for the Ukrainian capital to open the 223-room Rixos Hotel Kiev at the Kiev prime location right across historical landmark Golden Gates. The project was a reconstruction of historical Leipzig Hotel by NRB bank and acquired by Rixos Hotels.

Estonian Hotel Chain plans to open hotel in Kiev

Estonian Hotel Chain Reval Hotel Group announces new project in Kiev. However, as company informs, negotiations with Kiev city administration move slowly.
Reval Hotel Group intends to build two-star hotel with 150 rooms.
The chain, which is owned by Norvegian Linstow International, announced the plans at the end of 2003 but so far no significant steps were taken.
"The negotiations continue, but no progress is noted" - says Felix Magus - Chief Executive of Reval Hotels.
"As it will be continuing as it is we will not open till spring 2006" - he adds.
Reval Hotels is a biggest hotel chain in Baltic states owns four hotels in Tallinn, two in Riga and one in Vilnus. Company employs around 900 people.

Industrial Union of Donbass opens credit line to complete Saint Sofia Hyatt Regency Kiev hotel project.

Commerce Bank NRB - Ukraine will credit 12 millions USD to Industrial Union of Donbass to finish building project of Saint Sofia Hyatt Regency Kiev.
As a bank Deputy Chairman V Utkin informs, hotel opening is scheduled for EuroVision 2005 Song Contest opening.
Part of the credit (8 millions USD) will be supplied by VneshEconomBank, Russia within the credit line opened to NRB - Ukraine totally of 15 millions USD at Libor + 5% per year.
